When acne does strike there remains a distinct possibility that a blemish is going to result. While the whitehead, blackhead or pimple, especially on the face is an unwanted guest, squeezing it or scraping it may be the cause of an even worse blemish. When a person suffers an outbreak of acne, blemish treatment should begin immediately. Placing an ice cube wrapped in a cloth on the spot for two or three minutes can slow the growth of bacteria under the skin. If a pimple does open, use a few drops of lemon oil on a cotton ball to help kill the bacteria in the follicle.

Still, even with all of the advances it is important to keep in mind that there is no product that will erase the blemish immediately. Once you choose a product use the entire amount according to the directions before jumping to a different one. It will take time for any acne blemish treatment to work so it has to be given the opportunity to do its job.
